On 8 September 2015, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Chao met with Stephen Perry, Chairman of the 48 Group Club.
Wang Chao positively commented on the China-UK relations and spoke highly of the contributions that the 48 Group Club has made over the years to advance China-UK economic and trade cooperation as well as friendly exchanges. He encouraged the Club to carry forward the "icebreaker spirit" and play a constructive role in promoting bilateral relations.
Mr. Perry said that the UK and China enjoy a robust momentum of development with huge potential and broader prospects for cooperation. The 48 Group Club is willing to make greater contributions to the promotion of bilateral ties and people-to-people friendship between the UK and China.
