Li Keqiang Speaks with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store on the Phone
2022-04-30 17:12

On the afternoon of April 29, 2022, Premier Li Keqiang had a phone conversation with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store at Ziguang Pavilion of Zhongnanhai leadership compound at the latter's request.

Li Keqiang said, Norway is an important cooperative partner of China in North Europe and bilateral relations enjoy a profound foundation. President Xi Jinping and King Harald V held a successful meeting in 2018, vigorously pushing forward the development of China-Norway relations. China stands ready to work with Norway to treat each other with mutual respect and equality, consolidate political mutual trust, and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, so as to promote the sound development of China-Norway ties.

Li Keqiang pointed out, China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Norway in such fields as economy and trade, climate change response, green industrial technologies and environmental protection, and to expand imports of quality agricultural and fishery products from Norway. He hopes that the two sides will bolster cooperation in pandemic response and global health, and enhance exchanges on multilateral affairs at the UN Security Council. The two sides will work together for an early conclusion to the negotiations on a bilateral free trade agreement and a double taxation avoidance agreement, so as to send positive signals to the world and keep global supply chains stable. China will continue to keep its door more open, and is committed to deepening bilateral and multilateral international cooperation.

Store said, Norway and China enjoy close and profound relations, and the two countries maintain sound economic and trade cooperation and in-depth communication at the UN Security Council and other multilateral fora. Norway has long adhered to the one-China principle and is ready to deepen cooperation with China in such fields as green economy, marine economy and climate change response, strengthen people-to-people exchanges and expand cooperation between businesses.

The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine. Li Keqiang elaborated on China's principled position.

Wang Yi and He Lifeng were present at the event.
