On July 9, Charge d’Affaires Cong Peiwu met with Dr. John Chipman, Director-General and Chief Executive of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) at the embassy. Cong introduced China’s current diplomatic policies and practices towards neighbouring countries, and hoped that the IISS, as a highly influential think tank in the realm of diplomacy and security, may continue to strengthen their objective study on China’s diplomacy and promote a better understanding and awareness of China among all circles in the UK.

Mr. Chipman said that the IISS is committed to strengthening the study on China affairs and playing a positive role in deepening the mutual understanding between the UK and China.
