Wang Yi Meets with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand
2023-06-06 17:10

On June 6, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met in Beijing with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand.

Wang Yi expressed welcome to the Princess’ 50th visit to China, which is worth commemorating and a new starting point. Over the past decades, Princess Sirindhorn has visited China from north to south and made important contributions to the exchanges between the two peoples and the friendship between the two countries. She is the symbol of “China and Thailand are as close as one family” and the most important envoy of friendship between China and Thailand. China cherishes the special friendship with the Thai royal family and expects that the Thai royal family will continue to make positive contributions to the development of China-Thailand friendship under the new circumstances. Last November, President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to Thailand and, together with King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, opened a new era of building a China-Thailand community with a shared future. China is ready to work with Thailand to follow up on the blueprint drawn by the leaders of both countries, push for closer relations between China and Thailand as one family, constantly deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, and enrich the China-Thailand community with a shared future.

Sirindhorn said she visited the Museum of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which is of great significance. Although she has visited China 50 times, there are still many places she wants to go. She hopes to have more opportunities to visit China, gain a deeper understanding of China, and promote the Thailand-China friendship.

Wang Yi said understanding the CPC, one can understand the key to the success of China’s development, changes and great achievements. He welcomed Princess Sirindhorn to visit China more often and make new contributions to the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
