On May 18, 2026, the "Tea for Harmony" Yaji Cultural Salon, themed "Fragrant Anhui Tea–Together Toward the Future," was held in London, UK. Supported by the Chinese Embassy in the UK, the event was co-hosted by Anhui Agricultural University and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province. Minister Zhao Fei of the Chinese Embassy in the UK and Vice President Cai Dejun of Anhui Agricultural University, among other distinguished guests, attended and addressed the event. Minister Zhao Fei stated that the year 2026 marks the beginning of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, a critical moment as China fully advances Chinese modernization and continuously enhances the global influence of fine traditional Chinese culture. As a vital carrier of Chinese civilization, tea embodies the cultural values of "harmony, modesty, courtesy, and respect." It serves as a "green business card" for implementing the Global Civilization Initiative and deepening mutual learning between civilizations. He emphasized that the Chinese Embassy in the UK will continue to serve as a bridge and bond, actively supporting cooperation between China and the UK in fields such as culture, education, and intangible cultural heritage protection, to jointly create a harmonious symphony of China-UK cultural exchange. During the event, Chinese and foreign guests enjoyed cultural heritage demonstrations and tea art performances featuring four famous teas from Anhui. By participating in interactive tea tastings, the guests gained a deeper understanding of the unique charm of Chinese tea culture and experienced the profound humanistic spirit of "valuing harmony."
