On 6 May 2026, the “Chinese Story” photo exhibition organised by the China Photographers Association (CPA) with the support of the Chinese Embassy in the UK opened in London. Minister Zhao Fei of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, CPA President Li Ge, and President of the Royal Photographic Society Simon Hill attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.
Minister Zhao noted that in 2026, the first year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan period, China’s economy continues to grow steadily, and more progress is being made in high-quality development and high-standard opening up. Against the backdrop of a complex and fluid international landscape, China’s development will continue to add momentum to global economic growth and bring new opportunities for China-UK cooperation in such fields as culture, people-to-people exchanges and the creative industries. The Chinese Embassy in the UK will continue to play its role as a bridge and a bond, supporting deeper practical cooperation between the two countries in photography and the broader cultural sphere. Guests toured the exhibition and exchanged views, impressed by the magnificent landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and vitality and unique appeal of China reflected in the exhibits.
