On 24 May 2025, Minister Wang Qi of the Chinese Embassy in the UK attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the 14th London Business School (LBS) China Business Forum. The event was attended by LBS Dean Sergei Guriev, along with nearly 100 participants from the Chinese and British business and academic communities. In his remarks, Minister Wang noted that China’s economy has strong resilience and internal dynamism and that its long-term positive trajectory remains unchanged. China stands ready to work with the UK and all other parties to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and enhance communication and coordination, in a joint effort to oppose unilateral protectionism and hegemonic bullying, uphold free trade and multilateralism, promote an inclusive and universally beneficial economic globalisation, and advance stable global economic growth. China and the UK need to increase mutual understanding, pursue mutual benefit, create new cooperation highlights in financial services, clean energy and artificial intelligence, and expand practical cooperation in such areas as trade, biomedicine, education, culture, tourism and the creative industries, to deliver more tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
