On September 14, 2007, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with visiting Special Envoy of the Iranian Government Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, who is also Iranian Interior Minister, exchanging views on Iran's nuclear issue.

Yang said China supports to safeguard the international nuclear non-proliferation system and advocates a peaceful solution to the Iranian nuclear issue through negotiations.
