On 2 July 2026, Chinese Ambassador to the UK Zheng Zeguang attended the 15th China-UK Joint Economic and Trade Commission (JETCO) meeting in London. 

The meeting was jointly chaired by China’s Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and the UK’s Secretary of State for Business and Trade Peter Kyle. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on trade, investment, and regional and multilateral cooperation. They spoke highly of the progress made by the JETCO working groups on investment, trade in services, export controls, the WTO and aviation, and expressed the hope that the working groups would play an even greater role in advancing bilateral economic and trade relations.
