Ambassador Zheng Zeguang Attends China-UK Climate Ministers’ Dialogue and China-UK Environment Ministers’ Dialogue

On 16 June, the China-UK Climate Ministers’ Dialogue and the China-UK Environment Ministers’ Dialogue were held in London. Chinese Ambassador to the UK Zheng Zeguang attended both events.


At the Climate Ministers’ Dialogue, Chinese Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu had in-depth discussions with UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero Ed Miliband on topics including multilateral climate governance, national climate policies and future cooperation. The two sides signed an MOU on climate change cooperation at the department level, agreeing to deepen exchanges through the ministerial dialogue mechanism to strengthen dialogue and collaboration in such areas as climate adaptation, carbon market development, climate finance, and methane emissions control and to jointly advance multilateral climate governance.


At the Environment Ministers’ Dialogue, Minister Huang had an in-depth exchange of views with UK Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Steve Reed on topics including the latest progress in pollution control, global plastics treaty talks and biodiversity conservation.
