Question: On 8 October, the UK government announced sanctions against entities and individuals in several countries for supplying critical goods to Russia. Three Chinese entities are included. What is your comment? Embassy Spokesperson: China firmly opposes the UK's unilateral sanctions, which have no basis in international law and undermine the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises. We have lodged stern representations with the UK. China has maintained an objective and impartial position on the Ukraine crisis. We have remained committed to promoting peace talks and have exercised strict control over the export of dual-use items in accordance with laws and regulations. Normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be interfered with or affected. We urge the UK to immediately lift the sanctions against the relevant Chinese entities. We will take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
