Question: The UK government has announced sanctions against certain entities and individuals in several countries for supplying drone components and other military goods to Russia. Two Chinese entities are included. What is your comment? Embassy Spokesperson: The UK’s sanctions are unilateral measures with no basis in international law. They undermine the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises. China firmly opposes these sanctions and has lodged stern representations with the UK. China has upheld an objective and impartial position on the Ukraine crisis. We have remained committed to promoting peace talks and have maintained strict control over the export of dual-use items in accordance with laws and regulations. Normal exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be interfered with or affected. We urge the UK to immediately rectify its wrongdoing and revoke the sanctions against the relevant Chinese entities. China will take strong measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
