Bloomberg: About Greenland. Donald Trump has proposed levies on eight countries that have opposed his plan to acquire Greenland. He said on Saturday and he announced a 10 percent tariff on goods from eight European countries starting February 1 that will go up to 25 percent in June unless there’s a deal for “the purchase of Greenland.” We’re wondering if the Foreign Ministry has any comment?
Guo Jiakun: China has stated its position on multiple occasions on Greenland. The international law underpinned by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter is the foundation of the current international order and must be upheld. We urge the U.S. to stop using the so-called “China threat” as a pretext for itself to seek selfish gains.
