The Chinese Embassy in the UK has recently received reports from the public that the cult organisation “Falun Gong” has been staging so-called “Shen Yun Performing Arts” shows in certain parts of the UK under the guise of promoting traditional Chinese culture. The Embassy would like to state the following:

“Falun Gong”, which has long fabricated and spread anti-humanity and anti-science fallacies, was lawfully banned by the Chinese government in 1999. The so-called “Shen Yun” shows, staged under the guise of promoting traditional Chinese culture, are in fact political activities aimed at spreading cult ideology and anti-China propaganda. Their purpose is to deceive unsuspecting members of the public, promote cult and anti-China propaganda, and raise funds for the cult organisation.

The Chinese Embassy in the UK solemnly urges friends from all sectors to distinguish right from wrong, remain vigilant against deception, and reject the cult and its anti-China propaganda.

With the Chinese New Year approaching, several Chinese art troupes will be visiting the UK. We welcome friends from all sectors to attend these performances and experience the authentic Chinese traditional culture.
