On the morning of November 13, 2024, at the invitation of President of the Republic of Peru Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, President Xi Jinping left Beijing for Lima by special plane to attend the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Lima and pay a state visit to Peru.

Xi Jinping's entourage includes Cai Qi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
