Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Message to President-elect of Fiji Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu

On November 5, 2024, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu on his election as President of the Republic of Fiji.

Xi Jinping pointed out that Fiji was the first Pacific island country to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 49 years ago, China-Fiji relations have made substantial progress, which has enhanced the well-being of the two peoples and promoted peace, stability and development of the region and the world at large. Xi Jinping said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Fiji relations and is ready to work with President-elect Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu to promote the sustained, sound and steady development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and bring more benefits to the two peoples.
