Li Qiang and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh Attend a Symposium Gathering Chinese and Vietnamese Business Representatives
2024-10-14 23:00

On October 13, 2024 local time, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh jointly attended a symposium gathering Chinese and Vietnamese business representatives in Hanoi.

After listening to the speeches of business representatives from the two countries, Li Qiang said that in recent years, with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Viet Nam relations have developed steadily and practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results. China and Viet Nam are traditional socialist friendly neighbors, and their respective development is an important opportunity for each other. Economic and trade cooperation has always been a highlight of China-Viet Nam cooperation and an important source of driving force for advancing bilateral relations. Looking ahead, the two countries will continue to synergize development strategies, enhance connectivity and unlock their complementary advantages, as there is still more room to expand economic and trade cooperation and greater potential to be tapped. The two countries have the same social system, strong political mutual trust, geographical proximity and affinity among their people, and enjoy a profound friendship of "comrades and brothers", which has laid a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation.

Li Qiang highlighted the hope that entrepreneurs from both countries will actively follow the general trend, better seize opportunities and further strengthen cooperation, so as to achieve greater development of their own enterprises and contribute to the common development of China and Viet Nam. First, entrepreneurs from both sides should engage more actively in the synergy of national development strategies, and make full and good use of multilateral and bilateral economic and trade cooperation agreements and policy dividends such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and the Version 3.0 China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. Second, the two countries' entrepreneurs should jointly promote the integrated development of industries, deepen mutual integration of supply and demand, and build stable and unimpeded cross-border industrial and supply chains. Third, entrepreneurs in the two countries should pool innovation and creativity, and strengthen the whole-chain innovation cooperation between industries, academia, research and utilization, with a particular focus on such areas as clean energy, biomedicine and artificial intelligence, so as to jointly foster and strengthen new growth drivers for the development of the two countries.

Pham Minh Chinh said that under the guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties and countries, Viet Nam-China relations have increasingly deepened and solidified, entering a new era of building a Viet Nam-China community with a shared future. Noting that China is Viet Nam's largest trading partner, and Viet Nam is China's largest trading partner in ASEAN, Pham Minh Chinh said, economic and trade cooperation has become a highlight and an important pillar of the friendly relations between the two countries. Viet Nam is ready to work with China in the spirit of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, further leverage their complementary advantages, fully tap the potential, improve the level of corporate cooperation, promote cooperation in finance, science and technology, investment, transportation infrastructure, digital economy, green economy, industrial and supply chains connectivity and other fields, and strengthen coordination within the framework of regional economic integration. The Vietnamese government will continue to provide a sound business environment for enterprises and welcome Chinese enterprises to continue expanding investment in Viet Nam. Pham Minh Chinh expressed the expectation that enterprises from the two countries will actively fortify their synergies and jointly deepen bilateral practical cooperation, so as to contribute to bilateral relations and the respective development processes of the two countries.

Representatives of participating enterprises said that the strategic guidance of the two countries' top leaders has injected strong impetus into China-Viet Nam economic and trade cooperation. The Belt and Road Initiative is highly consistent with the "Two Corridors, One Economic Belt" strategy, and the business communities of the two countries are optimistic about the development prospects of each other's markets and have strong confidence in deepening cooperation. They expressed willingness to seize opportunities to promote cooperation in such areas as finance, transportation infrastructure construction, digital economy, green energy, communications and logistics to greater depths and higher levels.
