On May 16, 2011, Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying met with visiting UK special representative for international trade and investment Prince Andrew. The special representative said that the UK and China share strong economic complementarities and a sound foundation of economic and trade cooperation. The two sides should provide more help for their enterprises to establish partnerships in the British and the Chinese markets as well as third-country markets. As a friend of China, he is willing to play a part of deepening UK-China cooperation. Fu briefly introduced the "12th five-year" plan and pointed out that China's development will bring about huge business opportunities to China-UK cooperation. He hopes the British side makes full use of its advantages in the fields of creative industry, energy saving, environmental protection and high technologies, intensify efforts of promotion and cooperate with China with a more active and opener attitude.
