Notice of the Chinese Embassy in the UK on the Exemption of Fingerprints Collection for Short-term Visa Applicants

In order to further facilitate visa applicants, from September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in the UK will exempt fingerprints collection for all short-term visa applicants who apply for single or double entry (duration of stay within 180 days).


Please be noted that fingerprints are not required for:

1. Children under 14 years old and adults over 70 years old;

2. Applicants holding a diplomatic passport or eligible for application of diplomatic, service or courtesy visa of China;

3. Applicants who suffer from ten fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected.
