On 25 September 2024, H.E. Ambassador Zheng Zeguang met with Jeremy Sheldon, Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and his delegation. The two sides exchanged views on the development of British businesses in Hong Kong and China-UK economic and trade relations.
Ambassador Zheng noted that China is pursuing modernisation with the Chinese path through high-quality development. The strategic reform plans set out at the third plenum of the 20th CPC Central Committee will further unleash social vitality, boost development momentum, and provide huge opportunities for countries around the world, including the UK. Hong Kong has entered a new stage in which it has restored order and is set to thrive, and its development prospects are bright. As a bridge and link connecting China and the UK, Hong Kong maintaining long-term prosperity and stability serves the common interests of both China and the UK. It is hoped that the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong will continue to play an active role in promoting Hong Kong's prosperity and stability and China-UK economic and trade cooperation.
