The Ministry of Science and Technology of China has announced a call for China-UK cooperation to develop solutions that address the threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The investment of up to RMB 60 million will be used to fund projects involving Chinese businesses and academia. The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) of UK will invest up to £10 million in UK partners, and it will be delivered through Innovate UK.
AMR poses a significant threat to human health and China-UK partnership is an important opportunity to address it jointly. The call is to implement the memorandum of understanding between the two countries signed during the 4th China-UK High-level People-to-people Dialogue in December 2016.
For a project to be eligible for applying for the funds, there must be at least one business and one research institution from China, as well as one business and one research institution from the UK.
